JDesignerPro(JDP) Feature List.

Introduction:
JDesignerPro is a system for building simple, intuitive, yet powerful Java data base front-ends. JDP is not meant to be a general purpose Java development environment. JDP gives you a way to quickly make active data base applications in Java.

Java interface screens built using JDesignerPro are based around the same look and feel. All JDP screens include our unique tab menuing system. The tab system included with JDP allows you to make navigation between forms a breeze for users. More importantly, you do not need to write the tabbing code, it is automatically built into the interface.

Access Control and Code Generation:

• Complete Access Control. BulletProof knows that system security is extremely important and JDP allows you to define detailed access control. Many levels of user access can be set. A database interface built with JDesignerPro will modify itself, according to the access level of the user logging in, allowing only authorized persons and groups into sensitive areas. • Automatic Java code generation. When JDP creates a Java interface for access to your database, it also provides you with the Java code for the modules you create. JDP reuses proven Java classes, already tested and error-free. You can then modify and customize the generated code if desired.

• Automatic Java screen layouts. JDesignerPro creates field layouts with double clicks of the mouse, like a wizard for Java. Since JDP lays screens out for you, it overcomes many of the screen layout problems with the Java AWT. Screen Shot

• Automatic generation of SQL. SQL statements for inserts, updates and selects are created as the fields are generated. You don't even type in field names. Simply browse your database tables using the JDP ODBC table navigator then click on the fields you want.

• Tab interface for rapid navigation around screens. Even with large set of different data screens, the tabbing format used by JDP allows for quick movement from screen to screen and level to level. These tab classes are included as an integral part of JDP. Screen Shot

• Grid feature. JDesignerPro includes a powerful grid class for viewing data tables and performing spreadsheet functions. This grid can be used like you would any other database table for fast browsing and updating. Screen Shot

• Built-in filtering, sorting and searching classes. Handling of data lists is simple. These included classes for manipulating rows gives you immediate power over your data browsing. Screen Shot

• ODBC table navigator. JDP scans your servers for ODBC compliant databases to bring back a list of the tables and their fields. You can browse through these data sources and add any fields you want to a screen with only mouse clicks. Screen Shot

• Instant distribution. Thanks to Java's inherent network run time and platform independent traits, you don't have to distribute client applications. Your users simply use a Netscape Navigator or other Java browser to get to your database. This saves Corporate IS managers huge amounts of money and time (and headaches).

• E-mail Interface. With JDP's e-mail interface you can build e-mail windows on any screen. The e-mail is even variable-driven so user's names, e-mail address and other account information can be automatically put into the e-mail for quick sending.

• Java ODBC engine. Java ODBC connectivity is included with JDesignerPro. JDP includes JAGG, BulletProof's own Java ODBC engine which allows highly scalable, very fast data base client access.
